Bobi and Marcus came to Canaan from two small midwestern towns. Bobi arrived in September of 2008 and Marcus came the following July. They began dating and were promptly married December 12, 2009 - and you might think that was fast - but this was actually their idea of a 'slow moving couple'.
Marcus works in the school teaching the class of kids ages 11-18. He enjoys working one on one with them and following their progress. After school you would find Marcus playing with the kids in the soccer field or in the dining hall helping them with their homework.
Bobi works with a malnutrition program out of the Canaan clinic. This program, Medika Mamba, focuses on kids ages 6 months to 5 years old. She loves watching the kids gain weight and their smile brighten as they graduate from the program!
They love living at Canaan as a couple - most days. :) Their hopes are to learn and understand the kids and staff at Canaan at a deeper level. Living in a tight knit community such as Canaan has richly added to their lives and reminds them everyone has a role in life - to contribute and to receive.
